Kymco launches AK550, XTown 300i, Super Z 150 scooters

Kymco adds new touring scooters to Philippine lineup

Kymco took the wraps off three of its newest scooters, allowing Filipinos to enjoy the enviable European touring scooter lifestyle. The three new scooters present three different takes on scooter riding and come at three different price points.

The first to be launched was Kymco’s top of the line maxi-scooter, the AK550. Kymco calls it the ‘Super Touring Maxi Scooter’ and appropriately so. The AK550 boasts of a fuel injected, water-cooled 500cc engine, producing 53-hp. The AK550 was designed with sporty, long distance touring riding in mind. As such, it features steep lean angles, a comfortable riding position and ABS.

The bike also comes equipped with Noodoe technology, Kymco’s proprietary mobile device connectivity sweet that allows riders to connect to their bikes with their phone. Kymco will be bringing in limited numbers of the AK550, but for those that are willing to wait, it is offered at PhP 599,000.

Next in line was middle weight touring scooter, the Xtown 300i ABS. The maxi scooter boasts of touring scooter dimensions, with a low seat height and comfortable riding position. It’s powered by a 300cc water-cooled and fuel injected engine that is Euro4 compliant. It is also fitted with ABS as standard. The Xtown will be offered for a special introductory price of PhP 199,000.

Rounding up its lineup is the Super Z 150i 8-Series. The small scooter features an S8 150cc fuel injected engine. The new engine boasts of a new cylinder design. Besides the engine upgrade, the Super Z also features a waterproof 12V USB power outlet. The Super Z 150i is priced at PhP 83,900.
