Kawasaki ZX-25R owners invited to join one-make race

About a year ago at the 46th Tokyo Motor Show, Kawasaki officially reintroduced the “screamer bike” in the form of the ZX-25R – an inline 4-cylinder sportbike with 250cc in displacement, and can almost 20,000 rpm. Its power output is rated to be anywhere between 40 to 60 hp.

To encourage motorcycle riders to experience the fun and excitement of track riding, and possibly serious track racing in the future, Kawasaki officially launched the Ninja Team Green Cup/Trial 2021, complete with an official teaser video.

To become part of the Ninja Team Green Cup which is slated to begin in 2021, riders must first of course be an owner of the ZX-25R. Second, riders must join the “KAZE Circuit Meeting”, which is basically a track and training day for beginners.

Once riders feel comfortable riding on the circuit, they may now prepare themselves for the Ninja Team Green Trial sessions. This will require the appropriate leather racing suit.

Then, riders who intend to pursue racing will need to secure their MFJ (Motorcycle Federation of Japan) Freshman License, a racing license for beginners.

Finally, after getting their Ninja ZX-25R race-ready, they can participate in the official Ninja Team Green Cup. The series will be held at Suzuka, Twin Ring Motegi and SPA Naoiri racing circuits next year.

For now, it appears to be exclusive to Japanese ZX-25R owners. However, since the model is offered globally, it's hoped other countries will follow suit.
