Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) breathes new life into its top-selling trio, the XRM 125, the RS 125, and the Zoomer-X. The new models were unveiled before the press at the Honda Safety Driving Center in Bicutan.
Honda’s unique AT scooter, the Zoomer-X sports new colorways, featuring the new Mat Axis Gray Metallic and Heaven Blue Metallic, that boast of contrast-colored piping. It also offers a new Nitric Orange monotone colorway. Besides the colors, Honda has also updated its digital meter panel and smart technology engine, imbuing it with 5-percent more power and torque as well as 8-percent better fuel efficiency compared to the previous model. This results in fuel consumption at 70.5 km/liter at 50km/h. The Zoomer-X still retains its trademark Honda Smart Technology PGM-Fi engine, Idling Stop System, and Combi brake. The Zoomer-X retains its current price of PhP 93,900.
Providing dual sport street performance in the underbone class is the RS125. Like its AT scooter stablemate, the RS has now shifted to a Euro 3-compliant PGM-Fi engine.
This new engine is equipped with sensors that measure throttle positioning, engine oil temperature, crank shaft position and intake of air temperature and pressure to calculate the exact amount of fuel needed based on the sensors’ readings, to improve fuel efficiency and power.
It can also optimize maintenance by detecting possible abnormalities in the system, which is notified to the rider through the Malfunction Indicator Lamp. With this engine, it saves 6.7-percent more fuel than the carburetor type predecessor.
The RS125 is priced at PhP 70,900 Php.
Finally, Honda took the wraps off its number one underbone, the XRM 125. It now comes in three new variants: Dual Sport (DS), Dual Sport Extreme (DSX), and Motard.
The Motard comes with cast wheels on sport tires with a rear disc brake.
The Dual Sport (DS) comes with spoke wheels on light knobby tires.
The DSX come with spoke wheels on light knobby tires with a rear disc brake.
The new model takes inspiration from Honda’s larger motard, the CRF 250L.
As such, each variant takes design inspiration from the model to reflect a more sturdy, aggressive and motocross-inspired look. Like the RS 125, the XRM 125 has also made the shift to a more fuel-efficient and Euro 3-compliant PGM-Fi engine. Like the RS 125, it saves 6.7-percent more fuel than the carburetor type predecessor.
The XRM 125 starts at PhP 69,900. Honda also said to stay tuned as they will soon launch an XRM model inspired by the CRF250L Rally.
“We want Honda riders to feel the power of their dreams by experiencing the models’ performances that are specially made for their own riding needs. These may include daily commutes to work or hang-outs, racing for the sports models, or trail riding adventures for the off-road models,” said HPI President, Daiki Mihara.
The all-new XRM125, RS125, and Zoomer-X are now available in all Honda flagship stores and 3s shops nationwide.
