Honda is bringing the fun of adventure riding to smaller segments. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd (HMSI) have just unveiled their new CB200X adventure bike.
According to Honda, the new CB200X was designed as an everyday city commuter that can also take its rider well beyond the city during weekend rides. While the body was inspired by the larger Honda CB500X, the 184cc air-cooled engine is shared with the Hornet 2.0.
The engine churns out a claimed 19 Ps of power and 16 Nm of torque.
“Marking a steady evolution in 180-200cc segment, CB200X is a classic urban explorer at heart developed for next-gen millennials. Its design is inspired by Honda’s legendary higher displacement adventure bikes,” said Yadvinder Singh Guleria, director for sales and marketing of HMSI.
The new CB200X, being an entry-level adventure motorcycle, features upright riding ergonomics which is then complemented by its tall windscreen. It also features inverted forks, monoshock rear suspension, LCD screen and full-LED lighting. Being a BS6 compliant motorcycle, the new CB200X also comes with ABS as a standard feature.
Also, the new CB200X tires come in dual-sport tires as standard, ensuring that the rider will have no reservations when the pavement ends.
As for the price, the new CB200X is sold in India for Rs. 1,44,500 (roughly PhP 100,000). It will be available in Black, Matte Selene Silver Metallic, Pearl Nightstar, and Sports Red. For now, it seems like a Honda India exclusive and doesn't appear to be exported to other countries like the Philippines.
