Troy Alberto to compete in Asia and Thai Talent Cup

The Philippines could someday see a Filipino rider in the prestigious MotoGP races. This is the hope od Honda Philippines, Inc. As it held a send off party for international rider, Troy Alberto. The young rider will be competing in the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup (ATC) and the Honda Thai Talent Cup, two premier international motorcycle races in the region.

Alberto is the only Filipino selected to take part in ATC, after he completed a series of try-outs and test races last year. The race will begin on March 16 and will run for six rounds over the course several months. It will be held in various locations in Asia, including Thailand, Japan, and Qatar.

Aside from ATC, he also qualified for the Thai Talent Cup which will begin this coming April. The races aim to hone racers that could eventually compete at MotoGP.

We believe in helping young, talented racers like Alberto by providing them a training ground to hone their skills and propel them to the most prestigious international competitions,” said Daiki Mihara, president of Honda Philippines
