Honda launches largest Rebel with 1100cc engine from Africa Twin

Honda just took off the wraps of the bigger (and better) Rebel cruiser motorcycle, now powered by the Africa Twin’s 1100cc engine. It also inherits the Africa Twin's dual clutch transmission. The new variant is now the flagship of the Rebel line.

To power the Rebel 1100, Honda has retuned the Africa Twin’s 1,084cc parallel twin-cylinder engine to return more bottom and mid-range punch and character. This also helps give the bike an exhaust note more suitable for a cruiser.

What could be controversial about it is the optional dual clutch transmission (DCT). Like the Africa Twin that also has the option, it can run in both automatic and semi-automatic shifting mode. 

Another addition is throttle-by-wire engine management, which brings sophisticated new rider aids. There are 3 default riding modes with a cluster of different parameters to suit riding conditions or rider mood, including engine power delivery, engine braking, the level of Honda Selectable Torque Control and Wheelie Control. Cruise control also comes standard on the new Rebel 1100.

Other features of the new Rebel 1100 are full-LED lighting, a two-tone 13.6L flangeless fuel tank, underseat storage, a USB charger socket, and many more.

Philippine availability

For now, the Rebel 1100 is still a relatively new model with Japan and the US likely the first to receive the new model. Other markets around the world have yet to follow. There is no word from Honda Philippines yet if we're getting the new Rebel 1100. Please watch out for updates on our site.
