Honda is now taking orders for the 60th Anniversary Super Cub

Retro Cub style with modern efficiency

Honda has revealed the 2018 60th Anniversary Super Cub and is now taking orders for the special edition for a limited time only. At the previous Tokyo Motor Show, Honda exhibited concepts marking the production milestone of 100 million units. All year long for 2018, Honda has been celebrating the Super Cub with a range of new models, exciting announcements, events in Japan, and commemorative collaborations. The 60th Anniversary Super Cub is definitely the star of the show.

The 2018 Super Cub 60th Anniversary edition comes in two configurations: the 49cc Super Cub 50 and the 109cc Super Cub 110.

Honda chose a friendly Magna Red two-tone scheme for the special model — inspired by the 1966 CA100 export model that spawned one of the most famous campaigns in advertising history: "You meet the nicest people on a Honda."

This special little underbone comes with a distinct heart-shaped emblem on its side covers and a unique key — immortalizing the significance of the 100-million milestone and the Cub’s 60th anniversary. The 2018 60th Anniversary Super Cub 50 sells for an MSRP of ¥243,000 while the 60th Anniversary Super Cub 110 retails for ¥286,200. They are now available to order in Japan until October 31, 2018.

The world’s favorite underbone is powered by a 4-stroke, single-cylinder OHC engine with PGM-FI, which promises outstanding fuel economy and better emissions. It features an electric and kick starter, and is mated to a 4-speed, 4-mesh semi-automatic gearbox. LED lighting is utilized in the round headlight, indicators, and instrument panel. Both 50 and 110 versions have 4.3 L fuel capacities and 735mm seat heights.

The ordinary 2018 Honda Super Cub 50 retails for ¥232,200 and comes in the following colors: Pearl Shining Yellow, Virgin Beige, Moonstone Silver Metallic, Tasmania Green Metallic, and Urbane Denim Blue Metallic. The regular 2018 Honda Super Cub 110 retails for ¥275,400 and is available in: Glint Wave Blue Metallic, Classic White, Virgin Beige, Tasmania Green Metallic, and Urbane Blue Metallic.
