H-D reveals this year’s updates ahead of schedule

The boys from Milwaukee couldn’t wait for the January 26, 2022 “Further. Faster.” World Premiere Event and has revealed - in advance - what models will be in store for Harley-Davidson (H-D) fans this year.

“Today, we’re excited to see the first of our 2022 models from across our categories arrive at Harley dealers around the world as we launch a new model year and prepare for the coming riding season – we hope you join us for the journey,” said Jochen Zeitz, Chairman, President, and CEO of Harley-Davidson.

Pan America 1250 update

The Americans may be 40 years late to challenge the Germans in the world of adventure riding but that doesn’t mean they’re also 40 years behind in terms of technological superiority.

Harley-Davidson reveals ’22 lineup, updates the Pan America image

In November last year, MotoPinas.com had the privilege of riding America’s first adventure bike, the Pan America 1250 Special, thanks to our friends from Wheeltek Harley-Davidson of Cavite. With its power, incredible weight management, and off-road ability, we concluded that the Pan America 1250 is indeed a capable adventure bike and has brought smiles to our faces all throughout the 1,399 kilometers of dirt and pavement where we took the bike.

For 2022 model year onwards, H-D updated both the Pan America 1250 and the Special by improving the visibility of the information on the TFT display screen (larger fonts), and extended the Vehicle Hill Hold Control active time from the meager 10 seconds to 3 to 5 minutes, under normal conditions.

A new color option for the Pan America 1250 Special model has also been added –

Fastback Blue/White Sand.

Cruisers

For H-D, cruiser bikes will still be their bread and butter, and have made a couple of new updates for the model year 2022.

For the Softail Standard, a new “Annihilator” cast-aluminum wheels with Silver finish will replace the wire wheels from the outgoing model year. For the Heritage Classic 114 (1,800cc), a new chrome trim will be offered, as well as a black trim complete with an all-black engine and overall black trim to make the bike look as badass as ever.

For the Street Bob 114 (also 1,800cc), H-D also added the Annihilator cast-aluminum wheels with Gloss Black finish to replace the wire wheels from 2021. Other models such as the Fat Boy, Fat Bob, Iron 883, and the Forty-Eight also enjoy new aesthetic updates over the 2021 models.
