Can a 1200cc can fly?

In this age of social media, there's no shortage of motorcycle-related content. You've probably seen videos of Pol Tarres or Toni Bou riding big and heavy adventure bikes up huge obstacles like they were lightweight trial bikes. Then there's Chris Birch of KTM, who has also benn riding these massive adventure bikes like they were light enduro bikes.

For Triumph Motorcycles, they have tapped the services of one of motocross (MX) racing’s greatest riders, Ricky Carmichael, to test the upcoming Tiger 1200.

In this recent video from Triumph, Ricky Carmichael, who’s universally regarded as the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) of pro MX, is seen tearing up the MX track with the big Tiger 1200 like it was one of his 450cc MX bikes. “This thing is like a Tiger 900 on steroids,” said Ricky.

While obviously, the upcoming Tiger 1200 is not an MX bike, Triumph just wanted to tease us fans with glimpses of what the bike is capable of. The video wants to prove that it is both an enjoyable adventure tourer but at the same time, its rider will have all the confidence he needs when he takes it on gnarly dirt roads.

About Ricky Carmichael

If the Philippines has Glenn Aguilar, the world of AMA Motocross has Ricky Carmichael. Throughout his MX career, he had won 7 AMA 450cc national championships, and 5 AMA Supercross titles, also in the 450cc category. This feat is still unrivaled up to this day, earning him the moniker “The GOAT”. If that wasn't enough, he also has 3 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal from the Summer X Games.
