For Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, all Luzon expressways will be toll free.
San Miguel Corporation, the toll concessionaire for South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), NAIAX, Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX), Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR), and Skyway (with the inclusion of Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway or MCX) announced that they will continue their annual tradition of free toll during Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
“Every year as we celebrate Christmas and New Year, we waive toll fees at all our expressways to thank our loyal motorists. This year we have all the more reason to extend the same to spread some hope and joy. In these trying times. So from December 24, 10:00 pm up to December 25, 6:00 am, and on Dec. 31, 10:00 pm to Jan. 1, 6:00 am, STAR Tollway, SLEX, Skyway, NAIAX and TPLEX will be free of toll. Let's continue to extend and spread kindness as we celebrate the birth of Christ. Please stay safe. Maligayang Pasko po sa ating lahat,” said Ramon Ang, President of San Miguel Corporation.
In the same manner, Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), the concessionaire for North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), C5 Link and Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), has also announced that in the spirit of the holidays, they will also offer free toll entry during Christmas and New Year.
“This simple treat is part of our group’s initiative to give back to our customers especially this holiday season,” said MPTC president and CEO, Rodrigo Franco. The toll holiday for MPTC-operated expressways will also be implemented at the same time, from 10:00 p.m. of December 24 to 6:00 a.m. of December 25, and from 10:00 p.m. of December 31 to 6:00 a.m. of January 1, 2021.
All construction works and lane closures along the expressways’ mainline have been suspended until January 5, 2021, unless safety repairs are necessary. At NLEX-SCTEX, a free 24-hour towing service to the nearest exit for Class 1 vehicles will also be available on December 26 and 27 and Jan 2 to 3, 2021.
