Earlier this month, the management of the newly-built Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) has announced that they’ll start the registration and RFID tagging of sub-400cc motorcycles starting July 1, 2022. Entry and use of CCLEX for sub-400cc bikes will start the next day, July 2.

CCLEX has also announced the guidelines specific to sub-400cc motorcycles, such as 40km/h speed limit, use of motorcycle lane and more. Just a few days before July 2, the company announces the toll rate for Class 1M that will ply the new expressway.

According to CCLEX, they will be giving a “discounted” PHP 60.00 toll rate for sub-400cc motorcycles, one-way. On the other hand, Class 1 vehicles, as well as motorcycles 400cc and up, will have to pay PHP 90.00 toll fee, one-way.

“The toll rate for motorcycles is PHP 60.00. This is a discounted rate because Class 1 has been pegged at PHP 90.00. Motorcycles 125cc to 399cc can start using the CCLEX starting 11 a.m. on July 2, 2022.”

Work on CCLEX started on July 5, 2018, with ceremonies marking the beginning of civil works. It is MPTC’s first toll road project outside Luzon. CCLEX has a design speed of 60 to 80 kilometers per hour (kph) and a navigational clearance or height of 52 meters to allow large vessels to pass underneath the bridge.
