Get a Diavel with a yellow frame

Known for the red trellis frame in iconic models like the Monster, Ducati is departing from tradition with its 2021 Diavel 1260 S Black and Steel.

Unlike the Lamborghini special edition, this will be a regular variant. It features a combination of gloss grey and matte black with a very distinct yellow frame. The Black and Steel variant expands the Diavel’s color choices which are between black (with red frame), all black, or Dark Stealth editions.

The Diavel 1260 is known as Ducati’s power cruiser; a name it earns with a massive 1,262 cc Testastretta DVT (Desmodromic Variable Valve Timing) V-twin at its heart, producing 162 hp at 9,500 rpm and 129 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. It’s paired with a six-speed transmission with a slipper clutch and chain final drive.

It rides on 48 mm Ohlins fully-adjustable forks in front and an Ohlins adjustable monoshock. It’s brought to a stop with Brembo M4.32 Monobloc four-piston callipers on 320 mm semi-floating steel brake discs in front and a two-piston Brembo calliper with a 265 mm brake disc in the rear.

It comes with rider aids like an up-and-down quick shifter, wheelie, launch and traction control, as well as cornering ABS. The rider gets a full-color TFT-LCD instrument panel and conveniences like cruiser control and keyless start.

It should do well on long rides with a 17-liter tank. The seat height is a very low 780 mm but be prepared for the hefty wet weight of 247 kg.

The Black and Steel variant shows Ducati is certainly getting more creative with its color schemes. Let’s hope we see something like this on the Monster, Panigale, Multistrada or Street Fighter.
