Is the 2021 Ténéré 700 coming to PH?

Is the Ténéré 700 coming to the Philippines? It might be soon as a Davao-based Yamaha dealer announced it’s now accepting reservations for adventure bike.

It's unclear if the dealer has Yamaha's blessing for the announcement or may is eager to sell units and may have jumped the gun. Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc. has yet to officially announce the highly anticipated model’s arrival in the Philippines.

In a post on its official Facebook page, Yamaha Revzon Davao announced the new model is available for reservation in a choice of 2 colors; a black and blue livery and a black, grey, and green livery.

This is not a rare occurrence, particularly when it comes to a highly-anticipated model. Last year, the variants and prices for the 2020 Nmax were leaked long before its official launch.

The Ténéré 700 was developed to take on the harshest environs the world has to offer.

Powering it is the same crossplane, parallel twin 689cc engine fitted in the XSR 700 and MT 07. It is mounted on an all-new, double-cradle tubular steel frame that was designed for both lightness and strength.

It rides on 43 mm front upside-down forks returning 210 mm travel. In the rear is a rally-style link suspension with remote adjuster and 200mm travel. It has a wheelbase is 1,590 mm and ground clearance of 240 mm. Stopping power is courtesy of dual 282mm discs for the front and a single 245mm disc for the rear, both with switchable ABS.

It tips the scales at a hefty 205 kg. You’ll also have to be fairly tall as it has an 870 mm seat height.
