Having an insufficient RFID balance can be a hassle at times. While there are loading stations along tollbooths on expressways, the long queue of motorists can easily take up some of your time and even discourage others. Even if you load in any one of the 55,000 loading stations for Easytrip RFID, the balance could take minutes, even hours to reflect on your RFID.

Still, it's worth noting that by May 15, the tollways will implement TRB’s “3-strike policy” that could result in a ticket plus PhP1,000 fine if you enter the tollway for the third time with insufficient RFID load.

There's one new way to easily reload your RFID. Starting today, you may now convert your Smart, Sun (prepaid and postpaid) or Talk n’ Text mobile load into Easytrip RFID load. To do so, just text Easy [amount] [12-digit Easytrip account number] and send it to 3279.

Example: Easy 100 520055555555 and send to 3279.

According to Easytrip, the load will be credited quickly, in real time to your RFID account. Easytrip RFID is used on NLEX, SCTEX, C5 Link, Harbor Link, CAVITEX, and CALAX. The best part is, loading can be as low as PhP100.

This is all thanks to the fact that Metro Pacific Tollways, Corp. (MPTC) and Smart Communications are part of the same group of companies.
