It was barely 9 months ago when BMW Motorrad revealed their concept electric scooter, looking like one of the futuristic motorcycles we often see in anime. Last night, that concept scooter became a production model: the CE 04.

CE 04 electric

According to BMW Group CEO, Oliver Zipse, the new CE 04 will be available in showrooms sometime in March 2022. The CE 04 is powered by a liquid-cooled electric motor which BMW claims can churn out up to 44 Ps of power, while an 8.6 kWh battery cell provides the juice, which gives the CE 04 a range of 130 kilometers.

BMW also applied insights learned from the extensive research and development of their electric cars. That said, BMW was able to reduce the charging time of the CE 04 to just a little over 4 hours, with the option to quick charge in just 1 hour and 40 minutes.

The CE 04 also features active stability control, dual-channel ABS, optional Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), riding modes, and all-LED lighting with adaptive headlight pro available as an option.

The rider gets a 10.25-inch TFT screen which can be paired with the rider’s smartphone. It also comes with phone charging ports.

What’s more, BMW Motorrad created parka riding gear especially for the CE 04. This riding gear can be connected with the scooter and can make the rider more visible on the road, thanks to its specially-designed LED lighting that is integrated with the suit.
