GT stands for Gran Turismo and is evident in its more touring-friendly design and style. While the C400X is BMW Motorrad's city-bound offering, the C400GT is intended for longer out of town rides, while still practical to use in the city.

The C400GT is powered by the same efficiency-optimized 350cc liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine. It produces 34 PS at 7,500 rpm and 35 Nm at 6,000 rpm. Power is delivered to the rear wheel via a continuously variable transmission gearbox. It is mounted on a torsionally stiff drivetrain swing arm with an innovative bearing for minimal vibration.

Bringing it to a stop are disc brakes in front and behind, governed by ABS and automatic stability control (ASC).

The GT features angular design with a distinctive twin LED headlight with integrated turn signals in the bodywork. It also features a higher windscreen than the X for better wind protection on long rides.

For storage, the GT offers two glove compartments in front and the Flexcase underseat storage. This Flexcase expands to fit a full-size helmet when parked.

Even comfort with a pillion rider has been considered with a seat with separate rider backrest and passenger footboards instead of footrests for the pillion.

Finally, the GT comes with Keyless Ride as standard, providing added security and convenient operation of the ignition, steering lock, seat, filler cap and storage compartments.

The GT will also be offered with the Connectivity package, this time as standard. It includes a multifunctional instrument cluster with 6.5-inch full-colour TFT screen. It comes with the BMW Motorrad Multi-Controller that lets the rider access vehicle and connectivity functions quickly and without letting go of the handlebar. It allows the rider to use the phone and listen to music during travel, there is also the benefit of effortless navigation by means of a practical system of arrows.
