Fresh from its world premiere at the Milan Motorcycle Show, Honda Thailand brought over the X-ADV, creating a niche that it calls, scooter adventure crossover.
This 750cc dual-sport maxi-scooter combines a high-ground clearance, with a step-through chassis, upright motoring, and an automatic transmission with manual mode.
It's not simply a fancy maxi as the X-ADV has the goods to back it up. Propelling it is a 745cc twin-cylinder engine that produces 55 PS at 6250 rpm and torque of 68 Nm at 4750 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed dual clutch gearbox that operates automatically but offers a 3-level S mode and manual mode.
Rolling over bumps are 17-inch front wheels and 15-inch in the rear. They're suspended by forks with 41mm of travel. Twin Nissin 310mm discs with ABS are mounted in front with another disc in the rear.
It has amenities for touring too, such as all LED lighting, a 5-level adjustable screen, multi-information display, 13.1-liter tank, 21-liter underseat storage, 12V power socket and handguards as well. It has a tall seat height of 820mm but should be easier to mount thanks to the step-through style. All told, it tips the scales with a dry weight of 238kg.
This is all started up with a transponder fob for keyless ignition.
The 'scooter crossover' was designed by Honda's R&D center in Rome, Italy.
It's offered in Honda Thailand for ThB 425,000 (PhP 595,000) and comes in grey, red, or the Africa Twin-inspired white with red and blue stripes.
