Italian motorcycle maker, Benelli, has just launched their newest entry-level sportbike. The sporty 250cc, called the Tornado 252R, that has its eyes set on Yamaha’s R3 and Honda’s CBR250R. In Benelli's lineup, it will slot under the 302R.

The new Tornado 252R features a parallel-twin, 249cc liquid-cooled engine that produces a claimed 28 Ps of power and 24 Nm of torque. Its transmission is a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. Stopping power is provided by a two-piston caliper biting the single floating disc for the front while the rear gets a single-piston caliper biting a conventional disc. Both the front and rear have ABS.

Absorbing the bumps are 37mm inverted forks, while the rear has a mono-shock absorber with preload adjustment. Fuel tank capacity is 14-liters.

On the electronics side of things, the new Tornado 252R is equipped with all-LED lighting and a fully digital LCD screen with smartphone connectivity.

Price

The SRP for the new Tornado 252R is about CNY 25,600 or roughly PHP 197,800. Benelli PH has yet to confirm if the Tornado 252R will be sold here.
