QJ is MV Agusta's new partner in China

Italian motorcycle manufacturer, MV Agusta, has signed a long-term strategic partnership agreement with Chinese giant, Quianjiang Motor Company (QJ Motor). QJ Motor is the parent company of Benelli Motorcycles, which it acquired in 2005.

Timur Sardarov, the current CEO of MV Agusta Motor S.p.A, said that he is thrilled to have partnered with the Chinese manufacturing giant. He is confident QJ Motor will make MV Agusta the number one Italian marque in China within the next five years.

“I am thrilled about this agreement with QJ for the second phase of our expansion into the Chinese market. It is a very ambitious long term partnership that will make MV Agusta the number one Italian premium motorcycle brand in China in the next 5 years.”

Sardarov further added that, in terms of scale, market presence, and quality standards of QJ Motor, MV Agusta will reach their commercial objectives more rapidly than before.

QJ takes over from Fekon Co., which implemented MV Agusta’s brand expansion in China during the Italian brand’s (then) new growth program launch phase. Fekon Co. is a Chinese motorcycle manufacturer that specializes in small 125 to 150cc standard motorcycles.

“MV Agusta is a world-famous brand with a long history, and also an old friend and close partner of Qianjiang Motorcycle. This cooperation is not only a strong combination of the two sides' business, but also a further recognition of the brands and ideas of each other,” said QJ general manager, Dongshao Guo.

Will this new strategic partnership produce more MV Agusta-inspired Benelli motorcycles in the future?
