It was September of last year when Suzuki PH brought in the GSX-S1000GT – a grand tourer that inherited the DNA of Suzuki’s supersport motorcycles with features and functions for touring. The new model has been engineered for both ease of use for everyday riding, comfort, and high-speed stability during long-distance rides.
Whether you prefer high-speed runs on long, open straights or negotiating winding roads; ride alone or choose the company of a passenger; how far to ride; and the gear you may wish to carry along, the GSX-S1000GT is designed to make your destination secondary to the pleasure of the journey itself.
The 2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000GT sport-tourer comes in three colors to satisfy your taste. There’s the Metallic Triton Blue (YSF), Metallic Reflective Blue (QT8), and Glass Sparkle Black (YVB).
As mentioned above, the GSX-S1000GT has the same DNA as Suzuki’s flagship super sports motorcycles but is equipped primarily for long travels on the open road. For example, the GSX-S1000GT is equipped with the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS), which is a collection of advanced electronic systems that let you optimize performance characteristics to best suit your riding style or level of riding experience.
The SIRS is then complimented by Suzuki’s ride-by-wire system that ensures linear response to throttle operation.
Additionally, riding on the open road is best enjoyed with the GSX-S1000GT’s cruise control. When activated, cruise control allows the rider to maintain a certain speed without the need to twist the throttle. The system will automatically deactivate when the rider presses the brakes or pulls the clutch.
Other features of the GSX-S1000GT include the Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS), top-shelf KYB suspension system, assist and slipper clutch, and many more.
Pure power and reliability to go the distance
At the heart of the GSX-S1000GT is a high-performance 999cc, DOHC liquid-cooled inline-four engine that was developed to realize the idea of a true grand touring riding experience. According to Suzuki, the engine underwent a thorough review and multiple updates to increase the power output and achieve an even better balance of overall performance, all the while satisfying Euro 5 emissions standards.
The new version delivers superbike-level performance while minimizing vibration to make riding more exciting, more comfortable, and less tiring, whether traveling long distances on the highway or enjoying a ride around town. Its broad, smooth torque curve featuring more excellent cumulative torque production consistently delivers abundant power throughout the engine’s operating range. It makes this grand tourer equally adept at street riding as it is at high-speed long-distance touring, even under load when carrying gear and a passenger on the back.
The new GSX-S1000GT is available starting at PHP 815,000 at Suzuki Big Bikes dealerships nationwide.
