Ace Motorcycles Philippines – a motorcycle importer and assembler based in the Subic Freeport Zone in Zambales, has announced that they will be shutting down their business here in the country.

The British-owned motorcycle company alleged large-scale corruption within the local government units, national government, and the Subic Freeport Zone authorities, making it extremely difficult for them to conduct business in an “honest and trustworthy manner.”

“It is with regret that we inform all our customers that this shop is now closed and our Philippines business has been sold. We have had to make this hard decision after we found it impossible to carry out importing motorcycles in an honest and trustworthy manner having experienced bribery and corruption in nearly every part of doing business with both local and national government departments. We also found operating with the Subic Freeport Zone fraught with problems, bureaucracy, bribery, corruption, red tape and costly,” said Ace Motorcycles in a statement.

The company, however, promised their customers that they will continue to honor all existing warranties, documentation/ registration and ensure the supply of spare parts for their customers. Ace Motorcycles Philippines is a British-owned motorcycle design, assembly, and distribution company based in Subic Freeport Zone, Zambales, Philippines. They were established about three years ago and offers 250cc to 400cc classic and dual-sport motorcycles built from parts sourced from different OEMs, including China.

Ace Motorcycles Philippines is not to be confused with Ace Motor Corporation, which is a motorcycle manufacturer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA that ceased operations in 1924.
