LTO NCR West director, Atty. Clarence “Chuck” Guinto, led the simple handover ceremony which was attended by the dealers and members of the media.

According to the LTO, this is the first batch of the new motorcycle plates which will be distributed to select motorcycle dealers in the NCR. The number plates are for motorcycles that were registered with the agency between January until December of 2018.

So far, the LTO’s plate printing facility is able to produce 7,500 motorcycle plates daily. However, it has a backlog of more than 1.4 million plates. The LTO said that this capacity may soon increase as the agency continues to invest in more fully-automated printing machines.

What about the other regions?

For motorcycles registered outside NCR, the LTO will begin the new plate distribution starting next week and onwards. The agency advises motorists to stay tuned to announcements on their social media page and wait for a notification from their motorcycle dealers.
