2024 BIMC x MOTUL talking points

During the briefing, the organizers reiterated that the 2024 BIMC presented by MOTUL is not, and will never be a racing event. One of the protocols that will be implemented this year to make sure that all participants will not go beyond the speed limit is the mandatory installation of a GPS tracking unit courtesy of WRU GPS Fleet Management Systems.

According to BOSS president, Tristan Diaz, there will be a command center where participants will be monitored by the organizers and personnel from the PNP – Highway Patrol Group (HPG). Going beyond the speed limit is not only dangerous but could also result in disqualification (DQ) from the event. Additionally, the PNP-HPG has the power to confiscate the driver’s licenses of erring participants.

Blinkers and sirens are strictly prohibited under PD 96. The PNP-HPG will confiscate these illegal blinkers and sirens, along with the driver’s license of the participant.

For Group of 10 participants: The essence of group riding is “no one gets left behind.” That said, the organizers reiterate that your group should take off as Group of 10 and arrive as Group of 10. No switching of motorcycles and/or riders. Failure to follow the rules will merit a disqualification from the organizers.

Complete motorcycle riding gear is mandatory. Participants must wear appropriate motorcycle helmet, riding jacket, riding pants, riding gloves and riding boots.

2024 BIMC is a 2-day event only. This year, the organizers will forgo the 3rd day of BIMC which was traditionally reserved for the finishers’ awarding ceremonies. The finisher’s kit will be given upon arrival of finisher participants on the 2nd day of BIMC. Dinner will be served starting at 5 PM.

Prestige Class: participants who will be joining both Mindanao and Luzon BIMC legs are qualified to join the inaugural BOSS Ironman Motorcycle Challenge Prestige Class. Participants must be finishers of both Mindanao and Luzon BIMC, and ride through Visayas while passing the designated picture points. The motorcycle used for both the Mindanao and Luzon legs should be the same.
