Multistrada variants with radar systems to follow

One of the most desirable adventure bikes, the Ducati Multistrada V4, is now in the Philippines. The new model now boasts of a new V4 engine and on the top-of-the-line model, Active Radar.

The biggest improvement is the new four-cylinder, 1,158cc Granturismo engine, that packs 172 Ps of power and 125 Nm of torque. Newer, more complex engines are usually fussier and more difficult to maintain, but Ducati has strived to make it more reliable. Ducati claims it has an extended valve maintenance interval, now as long as once every 60,000 kilometers. The oil change interval is set to every 15,000 kilometers.

Another highly-touted feature is the anti-collision Radar system similar to those used by high-end car. This grants the bike features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, and even blind spot warning.

It’s all mounted on a reworked frame which gives the bike a more compact stance and less weight than its predecessor, now tipping the scales at 215 kg total.

It’s also easier to reign in with rider aids like cornering ABS, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), and Ducati Traction Control (DTC). On the Multistrada V4 S, there's even Cornering Lights (DCL).

Other features include Vehicle Hold Control (VHC), which makes it easy to start and pull away from a dead stop on steeply inclined roads. It also gets the semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) control system with auto leveling function, which constantly works with the inertial platform (IMU) to regularly adjust itself.

This Philippines is one of the first countries in the Asia Pacific region to get the new Multistrada V4 and V4 S. Unfortunately, the initial batch of 10 units do not yet have the highly-anticipated front and rear radar system. Nonetheless, Ducati Philippines promises that the next batch will definitely be fitted with it.

The 2021 Ducati Multistrada V4 is offered in two variants: the V4 S Touring at PhP1,710,000; and the V4 S Sport with Active Radar, starting at PhP1,920,000.
