About a year ago, Motorstar Motorcycles’ distributor, Eastworld Motor, introduced us to a couple of their upcoming big bike models. These models will bear the Voge badge.
One of those models, the 500R, is now officially available in their showroom located at 8th Avenue in Caloocan. The best part: it only retails for PhP250,000, the same price as most 250cc to 300cc motorcycle models from other brands.
Voge 500R
As a little bit of background, the Voge 500R is the product of MV Agusta and Loncin’s collaboration. It's produced by Loncin of China, but sold under the group's big bike brand, Voge.
The styling of the 500R is somewhat aggressive, comparable to KTM’s flagship naked bike, the Duke 1290. All lights are LED, along with a fully-digital LCD panel display.
Perhaps what makes this motorcycle competitive versus the established Japanese makes is Voge’s inclusion of name-brand components. These include 41mm KYB inverted forks, a Nissin brake system with ABS (the same component that Honda uses), and Pirelli Angel tires.
The engine is the same potent 471cc engine that powers the Bristol Venturi 500 adventure bike and Veloce 500 scrambler, which makes 47.5 Ps at 8,500 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The claimed top speed of the Voge 500R is 160 kilometers per hour. Its fuel tank capacity is at 17 liters.
Would you buy a 250cc or go straight to an expressway-legal motorcycle like the Voge 500R with your quarter-million?
