Kawasaki, Wheeltek and the City of Imus host MX event, unveil new KLX models

The City of Imus, Cavite, in partnership with Kawasaki and Wheeltek, held the first-ever Imus MX Challenge and Motorcycle Show. The event was held at the Ayala Vermosa Motocross Park on Sunday, March 1, 2020. Fans were witness to a spectacular show of talent, led by motocross legend, Glenn Aguilar, as he bagged another championship trophy to add to his portfolio.

Perhaps, one of the highlights of Sunday's motocross event was the official unveiling of Kawasaki's newest models for hit the off-road – the KLX 230 and the KLX 300.

The KLX 230 is powered by a 233 cc four-stroke, air-cooled engine that is mated to a six-speed gearbox. It also features a front 265 mm disc brake with two-piston caliper, as well as a 220 mm disc with a single-piston caliper for the rear. Its seat height is only 884 mm. It's suitable for both on- and off-road use. The KLX 230 is priced at PhP 190,000.

On the other hand, the off-road-only KLX 300 is powered by a 292 cc liquid-cooled engine mated to a six-speed transmission. Brakes are also slightly bigger at 270 mm disc with a two-piston caliper for the front, while the rear has a single 240 mm disc with a single-piston caliper. The KLX 300 is fitted with a 43 mm inverted fork with adjustable compression and damping. SRP for the KLX 300 is PhP300,000.
