In all LTO branches soon

President Rodrigo Duterte has assured the motoring public that LTO branches nationwide will begin issuing 10-year valid driver’s licenses by December.

During his pre-recorded "Talk To The People" program, President Duterte said that, “by December 2021, the LTO commits that all its offices nationwide will be issuing licenses with a 10-year validity.”

What this means is that, after the LTO Head Office in Diliman followed by NCR offices, all LTO branches nationwide should be able to roll out driver’s licenses with 10-year validity to qualified drivers and motorcycle riders.

Seminar now mandatory for DL renewals

As mentioned in our earlier story, only LTO branches that are part of the pilot implementation of the 10-year DL will require drivers to undergo the Comprehensive Driver’s Education (CDE) seminar.

Come December, since all LTO branches nationwide will be issuing the 10-year DL, that means all drivers who will renew their licenses will have to undergo and pass the CDE.

The CDE is FREE if taken in any of LTO’s Driver’s Education Centers and on LTO’s LTMS portal. The CDE is NOT FREE if taken in any of LTO’s accredited Driving Schools.
